Jean-Pierre Gibrat won the Best Artist Award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival for his Flight of the Raven graphic novel.  IDW’s EuroComics imprint has already collected that work and prequel graphic novel, The Reprieve, scheduled to hit shelves in April.

The Reprieve is the story of an escaped P.O.W. in World War II, hiding out in a small village and observing everyone from his hidden post… until something forces him to reveal himself.

The Reprieve
Jean-Pierre Gibrat (w & a & c)

Escaped prisoner-of-war Julien Sarlat is hiding in the small village of Cambeyrac during World War II, using a secret observation post overlooking the village square to watch the permanent theater that people offer in the course of the day. Loves, hatreds, jealousies, cowardices, acts of heroism… nothing escapes the observer’s eye, especially not the beautiful waitress Cécile. Until the moment comes when, spectator no more, he must become an actor himself and meet his destiny. This hidden life he had hoped to live was just a reprieve.
