The excitement has already begun at the Emerald City Comicon but in case you need more info, here you go.

This is the first time the show has run three days, but it has definitely joined HeroesCon, Baltimore Comics Con, WonderCon, and a few others as one of the premier “regional” shows of the year. If things were different we’d be there slurping oysters right this minute, but hopefully next year.

Here’s an interview with showrunner Jim Demonakos, and a guide to the show with ALL the info you need.

PRISM COMICS:

Prism Comics, the premier organization supporting LGBT comics, creators and readers, will be returning once again to Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, which takes place March 4th through the 6th at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Prism is expanding its presence at the show this year, hosting its first-ever panel discussion at the show on Friday evening as well as offsite social events at Pony on Friday and The Local Vine on Sunday. All weekend at the convention, Prism will offer a wide selection of comics and related items that are of interest to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender readers at their exhibitor booth. Prism also provides free space for comics artists and writers who do not have their own exhibition space, so that they can sell their books and meet with their fans.

DARK HORSE:

BPRDHE-EC-CVR.jpg

As Abe Sapien, Johann Kraus, Liz Sherman and the rest of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense find themselves dealing with dreadful events across the globe in the pages of B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth that they—and their fans—could not have foreseen only a year ago, a rare and surprising event is set to occur in Seattle at this year’s Emerald City Comicon. An opportunity second to none, fans will have the chance to hear all about the book Comics Alliance called “one of the best books on the stands” from Mike Mignola, John Arcudi, Guy Davis, Dave Stewart and editor Scott Allie—the entire B.P.R.D. team—as well as have a chance to receive an exclusive, black and white B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth comic. Featuring a full-color cover by Guy Davis with color art from Dave Stewart with the B.P.R.D. fighting a monster terrorizing the Seattle skyline, this unique comic will contain a brand new B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth story that’s a must-have for fans and collectors alike. Available for free at the Dark Horse booth (#702) while supplies last, attendees can swing by to grab their copy and check-in at the B.P.R.D. Recruiting Station to sign up for the B.P.R.D. newsletter, enter a raffle for B.P.R.D. prizes and more! “This is something really unique in that the story takes place during the current B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth storyline and fits seamlessly in between issues, yet is totally centered around Seattle,” Emerald City Comicon Director, Jim Demonakos said. “I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate with Scott Allie and Dark Horse to bring this comic to reality. With Scott, Mike Mignola, John Arcudi, Guy Davis and Dave Stewart all being guests, it was amazing to have the entire B.P.R.D. crew create a story that was both Seattle-centric and in-continuity, and I think the fans at ECCC are going to love it.” Fans should also make an effort to be at Saturday’s B.P.R.D. panel in Room 4C3-4, where they’ll be no shortage of exciting news about the series. The panel will also be a singular opportunity to hear the full creative force behind B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth discuss the book, chat with each other and field questions from fans.

IMAGE COMICS

SkullkickersVol1-HARDCOVER-FRONT.jpg

Image Comics and Emerald City Comic Con announced that an exclusive hardcover edition of the SKULLKICKERS, VOL. 1 TP will be available at the upcoming Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. Writer Jim Zubkavich and artist Edwin Huang have been handily bashing the heads of readers with their own brand of dark comedic violence and high fantasy adventure in each issue of SKULLKICKERS, leading up to this collection of the series’ incredible first arc.

“We’re ecstatic to be launching the first SKULLKICKERS trade at the Emerald City show and wanted to make it extra special for people in attendance,” explained Zubkavich. He also added a piece of advice for the fans, “This limited run hardcover edition is a beauty and solid enough to work well as a monster bludgeoning device in a pinch. Don’t leave Seattle without it!”

Emerald City Comicon takes place March 4-6 this year in Seattle, Washington. For more information about the show and all the Image creators that will be attending, visit www.emeraldcitycomicon.com.

SKULLKICKERS, VOL. 1, a rowdy 144-page full color trade paperback collecting issues 1-5, will be on sale in stores on March 9 at the low introductory price of $9.99. The hardcover edition will be available exclusively at ECCC for $25. Find out more about the world of SKULLKICKERS at www.skullkickers.com.
