A collection of stories about what the heroes of the DC Universe do with their last night on Earth sounds fantastic, and the creative team line-up for this book is absolutely stacked with talent. 1. Why does this have to be about their last day on earth or why is it their last day on earth does it have something to do with the death metal thing that I am not reading so could somebody please help me out? This is very confusing?

  2. If you check the title of the book being described again, it does mention that this is part of the Death Metal event. In the story, the heroes are about to go into battle with the very powerful villain and they do not necessarily think they will win, and if they lose the powerful enemy is going to destroy the Earth. Thus they think this may be their last day on Earth.

  3. I can’t believe how long Death Metal has been going. The number of spin-offs and one-shots that act as the glue between the ‘real’ DM issues feels excessive. I also found it very inaccessible, and I’ve read almost every DC comic for years and years. How did they end up in an apocalyptic world dominated by Jokers? I’m sure it was explained somewhere, sometime but certainly not in #1. After that, I didn’t care enough to go find out.

    Plus, Joker-fatigue.

I’m glad that there are people out there enjoying it but I personally can’t wait for it to be over.
