The first season of SyFy’s Deadly Class exploded in a medley of gothic stylings, teen angst, and unadulterated violence. The show, which is based on the comic series of the same name by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, published by Image Comics, follows Marcus Lopez Arguello, a disillusioned and homeless teen who gets recruited into King’s Dominion– a school that trains assassins. The school gives him a calling and a cohort of allies, but it also thrusts him into a world where death lurks around every corner.
Recently, the Beat sat down with Benjamin Wadsworth, who plays Marcus, and María Gabriela de Faría. While SyFy has not yet renewed Deadly Class for a second season, the actors are hopeful that they’ll have another chance to slay on screen…and they have certain hopes for what might happen to their characters if the series moves forward. They also discuss Remender’s involvement with the show and all the stunts they did (and weren’t allowed to do).
