Dark Ride, the new collaboration between writer Joshua Williamson and artist Andrei Bressan, launched last month to great success, with the first issue of the series selling out and going back for a second printing within days of its release. The horror series is set at an amusement park called Devil Land, and follows a recent hire of the park as he discovers the secrets of the place’s frightening features. With two issues now in stores, Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment have released a preview of Dark Ride #3 ahead of that installment’s final order cutoff date.

Here’s how Skybound describes Dark Ride #3, which is written by Williamson, illustrated by Bressan, colored by Adriano Lucas, and lettered by Pat Brosseau:

Halloween’s come early and she’s here to SLAY. Daddy’s favorite girl may threaten her brother Sam Dante and his plans for the family legacy, even as someone uncovers the terrifying disappearances at Devil Land.

In addition to a main cover by Bressan and Lucas, the third issue of the series will sport variant covers by Jorge Corona & Jean-Francois Beaulieu (open-to-order), Sweeney Boo (open-to-order), and Andy Price with Tony Fleecs (1:25).

Dark Ride is the latest teamup for Williamson and Bressan. The pair previously co-created the long-running Skybound series Birthright (which Lucas and Brosseau also colored and lettered, respectively), and also worked together on the DC Comics Justice League Incarnate series. Back when the series was first announced, Bressan talked a bit about getting the band back together for Dark Ride:

“It’s safe to say that we’re heading home! I’m really happy to be reunited with the rest of the BIRTHRIGHT clan once again! Hell! We usually tell people we are a team, but in fact, we are a living, breathing creature! And a hungry one too! At first you had us brandishing swords…but now, this time around…well…horror, right?” said Bressan. “I remember reading something that says ‘In horror, the surface always lies. Nothing is what it seems to be.’ So, take this and mix it up with an amusement park. You think you’re playing and having fun, but you’re actually flirting with Death. And here, Death blinks back at you!”
