Jeremy A. Bastian’s Cursed Pirate Girl is one of the most stylish comics of the century, an ode to previous centuries, sailing the seven seas and using a sea of ink to get the job done. Intricate doesn’t even begin to describe Bastian’s meticulous pages. Drawing on the influence of Arthur Rackham, and the engravings of Albrecht Durer and Gustave Dore, they are a phantasmagoric spree of fantasy, monsters and, of course, pirates.

The Cursed Pirate Girl returns to shelves in September with CURSED PIRATE GIRL: MALODIOUS MUTINY, a hardcover collection of previous materials (like 2022’s The Devil’s Cave #1) and new art. As you might guess from his style, Bastian isn’t the world’s fastest artist so this collection rounds up about a decade of work. Despite its infrequent appearances, the book has a cult following, and this collection presents some dramatic developments in the saga:

The fiery Cursed Pirate Girl’s journey continues as she searches for her father, one of the captains of the dreaded Omerta Seas. Cursed Pirate Girl’s loyal companion Pepper Dice reveals that there’s still time to bring back her father, the Dread Pirate Captain Douglas! If she can escape the Sea King’s Palace with The Bright Star, will she be bold enough to enter The Devil’s Cave in the hope of bringing her father back? Or will the Devil Jonah and his minions stop her?

Cursed Pirate Girl was originally a self published title before being picked up by Boom, with Volume 1 published back in 2013. The picaresque adventures of the Cursed Pirate Girl – who really resembles a Witch Pirate – on a quest to find her lost father have come out oh so sporadically since then, but every volume is a visual feast.

CURSED PIRATE GIRL: MALODIOUS MUTINY HC will be available in comic shops September 18, 2024 and available in bookstores everywhere September 24, 2024. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.

A softcover edition will also be available with a different cover hue:
