Some people on the move today!

§ Jeremy Atkins tweeted that’s he’s leaving Z2 Comics, where he served as VP of Retail Marketing, to relaunch his own marketing/PR agency.

After almost two years with the team at @Z2comics, I am excited to announce that I am rebooting my publicity agency and returning to marketing and PR as a freelancer full time. Excited to share more soon, but first, go buy @AshcanPress and @BoyCartoonist‘s fourth issue today!” he tweeted.

Atkins is one of the best PR/marketing people in the pop culture space, so I’m sure his schedule will fill up quickly – as to who he’ll be working with, the plug for Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss may be a clue.

I’ve said it many times before but I’m always being asked if I know any comics publicists or freelance marketing people. There seems ot be a big need for these services!

§ Megan Damore, late of CBR, has joined Marvel.com as associate editor. Damore was at CBR from 2015 – 2022 so she certainly knows the ropes and will bring a lot to Marvel’s online efforts.

§ This one is from last month, but Brian Cunningham, formerly a Senior Editor at DC Comics, and before that a big cheese at Wizard Magazine, is now freelance editing comic for Dynamite after being laid off in the DC Bloodbath of ’20.

“I am so appreciative of people congratulating me and for the work, but to set the record straight, I am just freelance editing for Dynamite,” he tweeted after another outlet spotted his name in the credits and ran a news story about it. Cunningham is working on the Project Superpowers project.
