Welcome to this week’s installment of The Beat’s Comics Crowdfunding Round-Up! It’s June (Happy Pride!), so the focus of this week’s crowdfunding round-up is “Be an Ally, Support Queer Comics.” With that in mind, this week we’ve got five projects featuring LGBTQIA+ creators and characters, from NSFW poly romance comics to an LGBTQ adaptation of King Arthur. Let’s get right into it!
SKYSET KNIGHTS 1 & 2: M/M Bara Gay NSFW Poly Romance Comics
Creators: Aero Zero

Goodies: The printed edition of the book, bookmark, four-pack of stickers, Aero’s complete collection of erotica
An epic set of short stories featuring men, monsters, bara, twinks, demons, action-adventure, romance & consensual kinky colorful smut!
Skyset Knights is an “explicit, beautiful, sometimes introspective erotica comic featuring men and monsters rendered in the handsomely colorful detailed art, with expansive world-building beyond the bedroom!” The Kickstarter is to cover the cost of printing this portion of Aero’s critically acclaimed M/M poly gay bara fantasy erotica series. Aero is an asexual, POC non-binary autistic creator and artist.
Young King Arthur Manga Adaptation

A manga adaption of the LGBTQ YA novel, Young King Arthur and the Round Table Knights.
Young King Arthur is the comic book adaptation of a successful YA novel published by Deep Hearts YA, an LGBTQIA+-owned business. The author of this project is also a bisexual woman.
In A Word Trans: Pride Edition

The early, experimental, and popular comics of Justin Hubbell, reprinted!
In A Word: Trans is a collection of the educational and personal works of Justin Hubbell, a transgender non-binary (they/them) artist from upstate New York. The story covers Justin’s own transition and is perfect for folx learning about trans issues. This is the second edition of Hubbell’s work and it comes with a glowing recommendation by Archie Bongiovanni, who worked on A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns.

M33: Galaxy of Hybrids – An LGBTQ Sci-Fi Comic

An LGBTQ science fiction epic featuring the intertwining storylines of different aliens spanning across multiple galaxies.
M33: Galaxy of Hybrids is an LGBTQ science fiction comic with an all-alien cast (for UFO true believers out there, they are Grey aliens). The comic not only features an LGBTQ cast who likes to get their freak on, its creator Natalie McKean (they/she) is a self-taught artist that explores themes of extraterrestrial life, queerness, women, and human-technology hybrids.
NIGHTMARE IN NEWARK
