It’s only been a week since the cancellation of Friends from College and Cobie Smulders already has a new TV series in the works!
ABC cast the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and How I Met Your Mother vet in the Stumptown pilot as as Dex Parios, a “strong, complicated, unapologetically sharp-witted Army veteran” who “solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own.”
The series is based on the Stumptown comic book series from Oni Press written by Rucka and illustrated by Matthew Southworth and Justin Greenwood, and will actually be partially filmed in Portland, Oregon, the city it was named after. Hopefully we see it on our screens by the Fall 2019 season.
She could be alright if her clothing and hair are more natural according to the part. Depends entirely on the production values of the entire show, though.
Love Cobie, love Stumptown, but this seems like an odd mix. She’s not the first actress I’d think of for Dex. Proof will be in the pilot, though. Love that this excellent series is getting a wider exposure.
