We thought the Eagle Awards were over. We were (possibly) wrong.

The 2012 'Reuben' awards were given out by the NCS (National Cartoonists Society) on Saturday night, although only one is actually called the Reuben. The full list of winners is here, but Tom Richmond, best known for his work on MAD Magazine won the top spot, otherwise known as THE REUBEN AWARD for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. Richmond is a fairly prolific blogger, and has already recorded his initial thoughts:

Who won big at the Eagle Awards this year? Well, Batman, mostly

Artist Sara Pichelli won Best Artist and Best Newcomer awards at last night's Stan Lee Awards, which are presented at the Kapow! to recognize achievements in superhero comics or something. Pichelli was on hand to accept her awards, as you can see, which is a good thing because originally there were no women in comics to go to the show. Luckily, some were found.

The Glyph Awards, presented for “the best in comics made by, for, and about people of color from the preceding calendar year,” were presented last night in Philadelphia, and PRINCELESS the webcomics and ULTIMATE COMICS: SPIDER-MAN led the pack. Here's the complete list:

Saturday night saw the Stumptown Awards handed out by host Bobby "Fatboy" Roberts as part of the annual festival. And here they are!

Second Joe Sacco item of the day! The Oregon Book Awards honored graphic novels for the first time this year, and Joe Sacco has won for FOOTNOTES IN GAZA, his most recent journalistic comic investigating a possible massacre in Palestine in 1956.

The LA Times handed out its book prizes at the LA Times Festival of Books this weekend, and the winner in the Graphic Novel category was Carla Speed McNeil for FINDER: VOICE. The other nominees were:

POLITICO's Matt Wuerker has wonthis year's Pulitzer Prize for cartooning, an award presented for "his consistently fresh, funny cartoons, especially memorable for lampooning the partisan conflict that engulfed Washington."
