Last year comic writers Al Ewing and Ram V launched a new Venom ongoing series with artist Bryan Hitch. Today Marvel announced that beginning in March with Venom #17, acclaimed artist CAFU, whose previous work includes the recent Iron Man series with writer Christopher Cantwell, will be taking over for Hitch as the new ongoing artist for the symbiote-centric series. Marvel also announced that CAFU has signed an exclusive agreement with the publisher.

Taking place after the events of the current Dark Web crossover event, the book will “see Eddie return to the Garden of Time and face off against Bedlam, the terrifying being born of his own rage.”

Having signed an exclusive contract with Marvel, CAFU expressed great excitement for this new project:

“Since I was a kid, the Marvel Universe and its characters have been a huge part of my life, especially Spider-Man and his entire rogues gallery. For this reason, it’s been a dream come true signing this new exclusivity contract with the best comic-book publisher in the world and also drawing VENOM, one of my favorite characters in all the Spider-Verse!”

While Hitch may be departing as the interior artist, he will still serve as the main cover artist for the series. Check out the main cover for Venom #17 by Bryan Hitch below, and look for the issue to arrive in stores and digitally on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023.
