Dark_Nights-METAL_PromoHow will they be able to tell!

Spinning out of the Dark Nights Metal storyline, Batman is going full evil, or rather SEVEN versions of the Dark Knight are going rotten and planning to terrorize Earth.

It’s all part of the fall out from August’s  DARK NIGHTS: METAL event, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Each of the seven one-shot stories spotlights “a different, corrupted version of Batman spawned from the Dark Multiverse to wreak havoc on Earth.”

I know what you are thinking now, but it’s always someone’s first bad Batman! Adding to the luster, these one shots will have special foil stamped covers featuring a protective UV coating, with art by fan-favorite creator Jason Fabok. These handsome issues can be yours for the low price of $3.99.

Executive Editor Pat McCallum issued more dire hints of this so-called “Dark Multiverse.”

“With names like The Red Death, The Murder Machine, The Dawnbreaker, The Drowned, The Merciless, The Devastator and The Batman Who Laughs, it’s pretty clear that these creatures mean business and prove just how dangerous the Dark Multiverse will be for DC’s heroes,” said Patrick McCallum, DC Entertainment Executive Editor.

Batman’s terrifying assault on the innocent lives of earth begins September 20th – here’s the roll-out!

Interestingly, the heroes of Gotham City will attempt to thwart the plans of the Bad Batmans even when the BBs are teamed with existing supervillains, who are expected to welcome the Bad Batmans as potential collaborators. The heroic efforts will be chronicled in a FURTHER series of tie-ins, collectively titled “Gotham Resistance.”

DC’s bravest heroes aren’t rolling over for anybody and are ready to fight for the city’s very soul in “Gotham Resistance,” a series of crossover stories beginning with TEEN TITANS #12 written by Benjamin Percy with art by Mirka Andolfo (on sale September 13), NIGHTWING #29 by Tim Seeley and Paul Pelletier (on sale September 20) and SUICIDE SQUAD #26 by Rob Williams and Stjepan Sejic (on sale September 27).

McCallum went on to say that fans should buy these books:

”With the combination of an event comic helmed by two of the most talented creators in comic history a legion of evil Batmen and crossover titles that show just how deeply this event impacts the DCU, fans will know now more than ever that DARK NIGHTS: METAL is something not to be missed,” said McCallum.

  1. Some of those teams have creators that make me excited, others have Frank Tieri and Phillip Tan. They must be the best friends a comics editor can have.
