In today’s landmark issue of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13, Miles adds another role and responsibility to his life: big brother! Not only does Miles have to race against the clock — and a supervillain — alongside his uncle Aaron, a wanted man, but he’s out of webfluid and he’s on a mission to meet the new addition to his family! Like so much of Saladin Ahmed‘s run so far, this issue is jam-packed with action and intensity, but it also introduces a brand new character to the Marvel Universe. Billie Mariana Morales may be just a baby, but with her parents and brother setting such great examples, we’re sure she’s destined to do incredible things.

To celebrate her birth, Marvel released a floral themed birth announcement Wednesday, along with a sneak peek at Miles Morales: Spider-Man #16, in which Miles faces the all-new challenge of babysitting his infant sister for the first time.

From the issue #16 cover art by Javier Garrón, it seems like he’s either overdoing it, or responding to an actual threat. Given how Miles’ life typically goes, either one seems not only possible, but plausible.

Obviously, Billie Mariana Morales will be a recurring character in the current Miles comic, but we can’t help but wonder: will she appear in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel that’s slated for April 2022? There’s been no word yet on what the plot for the new film looks like, but we must admit, we wouldn’t complain to seeing some adorable big brother shenanigans on the big screen.

Check out the birth announcement for Billie Mariana Morales below, as well as the cover art for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #16. If you aren’t already reading this series, now is a great time to catch up!
