Next week Archie Comics will release Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #300. The landmark 300th issue of the digest series features a brand-new story starring Riverdale’s most famous females by writer & penciller Dan Parent, inker Bob Smith, colorist Glenn Whitmore, and letterer Jack Morelli, along with a collection of classic B&V stories. Today The Beat is pleased to present a preview of the new story, “Sister, Sister!”, as well as a full six-page classic story.

Here’s how Archie describes the double-sized new entry in Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #300:

BRAND NEW STORY: “Sister, Sister!”  Betty and Veronica realize both of their parents’ anniversaries are only a couple of days apart, so they decide to throw a big anniversary party for both the Lodges and the Coopers. Planning the event makes them feel like sisters, which leads them to imagine what their lives would be like if they actually were sisters in this landmark 300th issue!

The classic reprint story previewed below, “There’s Snow Business Like Snow Business!,” was written by Barbara Slate, pencilled by Jeff Shultz, inked by Rich Koslowski, and lettered by Bill Yoshida. The story finds Betty trying to convince Veronica to help her build a snowman, with unexpected results.

Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest launched in 1987, with Double Digest in place of Jumbo. The series first sported the Jumbo Comics subtitle with 2014’s issue #223, though it rotated titles before finally settling on its current title February 2018’s issue #259. The series is the latest Archie Comics digest to reach 300 issues; Archie Jumbo Comics Digest hit the mark itself back in 2019.

Check out the two-page preview of the new story from Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #300, as well as the complete six-page classic reprint story, below. The 192-page book arrives in stores next Wednesday, January 12th. Here’s to the next 300.
