Yesterday saw the launch of a Kickstarter for a pair of art books spotlighting the work of artists from two different Asian countries. Artists in Taiwan and Artists in Korea are the result of a collaboration between Clover Press, Media Do International, Inc., and Japanese artist forum Pixiv, and will feature the work of over 150 artists from the two countries. Today The Beat is pleased to present an exclusive look at artwork from six of the artists featured in the book.
Here’s how the press release announcing the Kickstarter describes the two books:
ARTISTS IN TAIWAN features 83 incredible artists in Taiwan, with a cover by VOFAN, an illustrator with an impressive mastery of the use of intense light and shadow. ARTISTS IN KOREA features 78 fantastic artists in Korea, with a cover by Tiv, an illustrator well known for poetic and transparent expression and capturing emotional moments, especially of women. Between both volumes, the books collect the amazing work of Say HANa, I READING, LOIZA, B.c.N.y., modare, Anmi, zipcy, Gearous, DSmile, Canking, and many more.
The book’s cover artists, Vofan and Tiv, spoke with The Beat about the work being presented in Artists in Taiwan and Artists in Korea, respectively:
