Last year, cartoonist and musician Geneviève Castrée Elverum was diagnosed with inoperable Stage Four pancreatic cancer just four months after giving birth to a daughter. She is only 34 years old. You can read about her case and what you can do to help at this GoFundMe organized by her husband.
The campaign has already raised more than $100,000 but this illness is not cheap. They need more help, not least to enable the couple to raise an infant with only one healthy parent.
As Geneviève Castrée, the artist is best known for Susceptible, a semi autobiographical GN published in English by D&Q that was nominated for multiple Doug Wright Awards.
She’s also an indie musician of some note, recording as Woelv and Ô PAON. Here’s a video and some art.
