Alicia Vikander, who just walked away with a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in The Danish Girl, has signed on board for the relaunched film adaptation of the Tomb Raider franchise per The Wrap.

Vikander will be stepping into the role of Lara Croft, played previously by fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie. This new film, directed by Roar Uthaug, will relay the story of Lara’s first adventure…a sort of “year one” if you will.

MGM, Warner Bros, and GK Films have been aiming to get this franchise back off the ground for years following 2003’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Rumors had circulated that Daisy Ridley was in line for the role, but this proved not to be the case.

No date has been set for the film as of yet. In the meantime, please do see Ex Machina for a particularly great Vikander performance.
