Following rumors early Wednesday morning, the Aladdin and The Lion King video games’ rerelease for modern consoles has been confirmed. Disney asserts once again that it is not yet finished with your nostalgia dollars. Given that Aladdin is heading to blu-ray soon and The Lion King has secured over $500 million at the box office, the timing is just right. Just like when they were first released in ’93 and ’94 respectively, the games are meant to ride off of the success of their film versions.

Although, to give the Aladdin and The Lion King video games some credit, they are packed with new features especially welcome for retro games. As revealed in the trailer below, there are enhanced graphics and customizable controls, which is an important accessibility feature which is often overlooked. Players can also pick and choose what version of either game they want to play, as the package includes the “Sega Genesis, Game Boy and Super Game Boy releases, as well as The Lion King Super Nintendo Entertainment System version.”

And that’s not even the best part. If your platforming skills have not improved since you first played the Aladdin or The Lion King video games, worry not. These player-friendly games come with an interactive game viewer, which lets players fast forward to any point in the game, as well as a rewind feature which means you won’t have to completely restart if you’re having trouble landing a job or beating a boss. If that’s not enough, the game devs have also thrown in optional cheat codes for anyone who just wants to have fun breaking the game. Those familiar with systems like the SNES Classic, the Sega Genesis Mini and the PlayStation Classic, those features should sound just right for a retro rerelease.

The games also include some bonus content; fans can explore “interviews, an art gallery and a music player” that all provide a behind-the-scenes look at the Aladdin and The Lion King video games.

The games were leaked just a few hours before the official announcement came in, thanks to @wolverinefactor on Twitter, who was in attendance at a GameStop conference during the initial reveal.

The Aladdin and The Lion King video games will be available in all their 16-bit glory later this fall on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For $29.99, you can have both and, if you’re eager to get your hands on a copy, be sure to keep an eye on GameStop to secure your preorder.
