In a pair of transmissions sent from the far reaches of space (the Syracuse, New York sector, specifically), AHOY Comics has announced that a pair of their titles will be returning later this year. Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Blood, the horror-comedy anthology series headlined by famous Baltimore native Edgar Allan Poe, will be back on store shelves in time for Halloween in October, while Mark RussellRichard Pace, Leonard Kirk, and Andy Troy‘s Second Coming will launch its second volume as an early Christmas gift in December. Along with the two returning titles, AHOY has teased three more as-yet-unrevealed titles are on the way.

AHOY Second Coming
Second Coming: Only Begotten Son #1

CBR reports that the second coming of Second Coming, titled Second Coming: Only Begotten Son, will continue the Second Coming storyline of unlikely roommates Jesus Christ and Sunstar, with Jesus continuing to explore modern-day humanity, and Sunstar and his girlfriend expecting their first child. The first issue of Only Begotten Son will also explore Sunstar’s origins, and a preview reveals a very Superman-esque set of circumstances for the young hero. The full creative team for the series returns for the new series, though Pace will provide covers this time around, replacing previous cover artist Amanda Conner.

As for the Poe series, Daily Dead reports that Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Blood will take over for the previous Poe anthology series, Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Terror, which saw two six-issue series released already. The first issue of the newly-christened EAPSOB will feature stories by Paul CornellRuss Braun, and Dean Motter, all under a cover by Jill Thompson (currently providing covers for AHOY’s Ash & Thorn). The second issue will sport a cover by Ryan Kelly, and include a new installment in Mark Russell & Peter Snejbjerg‘s Cereal Monsters series, as well as a new take on “The Cask of Amontillado” from Devin GraysonChris Giarrusso, and Richard Williams.

Following the Second Coming announcement yesterday, AHOY tweeted a Graphics Interchange Format picture of a surfer riding a wave, along with a code, written in the font known as Mocking Spongebob, indicating three new series will be joining EAPSOB and Second Coming: Only Begotten Son later this year:

Would could those other releases be? AHOY still has the Penultiman series to put back on its schedule. The title, the first of three to spin out of the Steel Cage one-shot, was delayed following the Diamond shutdown back in March. Keen-eyed observers on Twitter will also note that Jamal Igle has begun work on a new series of his and Tom Peyer‘s The Wrong Earth, while artist Peter Krause has also been working on an unannounced new project for the publisher.

Could those three titles round out AHOY’s 2020 schedule? Or could Krause, who also drew the Wrong Earth spin-off Dragonfly & Dragonflyman, be joining Igle for the new volume of TWE? Is Krause now drawing one of the other Steel Cage stories, Bright Boy or Noah Zark Or are none of those things the case?!?

AHOY always says to “Expect More,” so it seems safe to say we can Expect More announcements from them about their new books in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, mark you calendars for Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Blood #1 in October, and Second Coming: Only Begotten Son #1 in December.
