It goes without saying at this point that DC’s Absolute line has been crushing it not just for the publisher but the comics industry as a whole. So it probably won’t come as a surprise that ahead of the publication of the first issue of the Absolute Catwoman miniseries this week, DC has announced that Absolute Catwoman #1 will return to press for a second printing, arriving in comic shops on July 15. But perhaps even more exciting, DC has unveiled details for a new Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand one-shot.
Spinning out of Absolute Catwoman miniseries, this Absolute Cassandra Cain one-shot will be written by Che Grayson with art and variant cover by Matias Bergara and a main cover by Bengal. The one-shot will arrive September 9, 2026 between issues #3 and #4 of Absolute Catwoman which will then resume publishing with #4 in October.

After Absolute Green Arrow sold out a week before release, it shouldn’t be suprising that Absolute Catwoman from the all-star creative team of writers Che Grayson and Scott Snyder, artis Bengal, colorist Giovanna Niro, and lettererer Lucas Gattoni would follow suit. The second printing of Absolute Catwoman #1 will feature a main cover by Bengal with a recolored logo, along with open-to-order variant covers by Guillem March and Kaare Andrews (foil).
Retailers can place orders for Absolute Catwoman #1’s second printing beginning Tuesday, June 9. The second printing arrives in comics shops on July 15, a week after Absolute Catwoman #2. Absolute Catwoman#1’s first printing will be available wherever comic books are sold, while supplies last, beginning Wednesday, June 10.
According to the publisher, fans can look expect a major event miniseries launching in Q4 2026. With San Diego Comic-Con around the corner, it seems like a safe bet to expect the big announcement at the end of July. Keep your eyes peeled right here!
