We have all dreamed about having powers at some point. Super strength, telepathy, teleportation to get out of that massive traffic jam–the list is endless. In The Most Ordinary Girl on Webtoons, Se-gye Lee is regretting her choice to wish for superpowers.
Created by Chogori, the web series centers on Se-gye, who once desired to be special but now regrets making that wish when her newfound powers are more a problem than a perk. It seems everywhere she goes, her super strength causes massive damage and embarrassment, and it only gets worse when she knocks down the wall of her neighbor Juwon’s home. Oh and he’s super cute so she’s even more mortified.
Juwon, it turns out, is harboring his own secrets, which explains why he is not as mad as one might be when their walls are crumbling around them thanks to the perky gal next door.
The story and characters are quirky and fun, and Se-gye is likable and relatable. Instead of a story about how powers are super great and make life easier, this one looks at it from the other side where certain capabilities may do more harm than good.
