With the webcomics hole left by the shuttering of Tapas, BookWalker signs Ecomix Media to bring new Webtoon and manhwa offerings to the platform. Starting October 1st, 18 different series from Ecomix will become available on the BookWalker storefront. This launch also includes extended free chapters and a sale.
BookWalker is a digital comics storefront owned and operated by the Kadokawa Group (who recently announced a partnership with Marvel Comics). BookWalker offers titles from many webtoon and Asian comics publishers including Yen Press, Kodansha, Seven Seas, Viz, and J-Novel Club. BookWalker also offers light novels and audiobooks. The platform has signed a digital distribution deal with Korean comics company, Ecomix.
Ecomix Media Company offers readers romance, fantasy, and drama webtoon titles. According to the press release, the company also launched Korea’s very first internet comics service in 1998. As part of this deal for Ecomix titles, 18 different series will become available on the BookWalker platform on October 1st:
