Well, that was sudden. It seems that the Lexington Armory is not the most hospitable place to hold comics shows. A few weeks ago, we mentioned that dealer Mike Carbonaro would be running a one-day NY Comic Book Marketplace on Saturday, 2/27 at the Armory (sweaty home to last year’s MoCCA) and have been getting regular updates on the show there.

However, a press release just landed in our box telling us the show is being moved to the former Big Apple Con home at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, 401 Seventh Ave @ 33rd Street. The reason for the move wasn’t given. To be honest, it’s kinda six o’ one, half a dozen of the other. The Armory is old and dank and has a lot of climate problems. Penn Plaza is old and decrepit and sometimes the roof leaks. The Armory is closer to our house and good banh mi, so we prefer it, but the Penn location is closer to more subways and trains and Tim Hortons. Your mileage may vary.

Guests at the show include

Herb Trimpe, Michael Golden, Tony Robinson, Irwin Hasen, Mark Texeira, Gene Colan, J H Williams III, Dan Slott, Larry Hama, Billy Tucci, Bill Sienkiewicz, Chris Claremont, Cliff Chiang, Jim Starlin, Matt Clark, Sean Chen, Dick Ayers, Trevor Von Eeden, Mike Lilly, Brian Kong, Renee Witterstaetter, Janet Jackson, Stu Suchit, John Cebollero, Jorge Gonzalez, Bob Wiacek, Mark Romanoski, Scott Roberts, Danny Fingeroth, Rudy Nebres, Rodney Ramos, Steve Mannion, Ian Dorian, Guy Dorian, Khary Randolph & many more.
