If you’re like me, this special Valentine’s day greeting from Cole Sprouse and KJ Apa – Apa with his adorable native Kiwi accent – was just what you needed! But what Archie Comics needs is yet more TV. And as Graeme McMillan at THR reports, in the wake of Riverdale’s success, that’s just what they are getting, […]
I don’t have a lot of time to write about this today but I really enjoyed Riverdale, the new CW show based on Archie comics. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has put together a witty and intrguing homage to Twin Peaks – which was in its own way a reinvention of wholesome suburban teen melodrama as portrayed […]
Archie had something of a creative renaissance when the publisher launched Afterlife with Archie in October of 2013 with Archie Creative Chief Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Spider-Man) on writing duties and Francesco Francavilla (Batwoman) on art. However, fan haven’t seen a new issue of the series since May. Only eight installments of the series launched between 2013 and 2015– with no […]
The enduring and malleable world of Archie Comics is headed or another medium with a Broadway musical now in development with Adam McKay and his Funny or Die production shingle. McKay (Anchorman, Talledega Nights) will write the book; a team for the music has not been announced.
On the Archie side, the show is in good hands: CCO Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has a long history as a playwright and he was once brought in fix Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. President Jon Goldwater will also assist with the development of a show that will be “bright, colorful and slightly demented” according to McKay.

By Harper W. Harris Archie fans certainly had a good time at SDCC this year: not only did the publisher talk about a new series in the Archie Horror line and tease us with the future of the Dark Circle line and the New Riverdale series of titles, but announced that the Riverdale TV series […]
Archie Comics has exploded onto the mainstage of the comics world in the last few years, just as many thought they were a relic of the golden age. Series like Life With Archie and the enormously popular Afterlife with Archie, along with the introduction of the openly gay character Kevin Keller a few years prior, […]
We’ve had a lighthearted take on Archie in the wider media for a long time—from Sugar Sugar to Sabrina, but it’s time to take a more serious look at the world of Riverdale. Greg Berlanti, the tv genius behind Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, is developing a more serious take on the citizens of Riverdale, to be called…RIVERDALE:
