Hey mom, that movie I was in may be getting much wider distribution! She Makes Comics, Marisa Stotter’s documentary about the history of women making comics is being picked up Lifeframe a new documentary division of indie distributor XLrator Media.

XLrator CEO Barry Gordon said the new label will offer “real stories about people, arts, culture and society to entertain and inspire audiences around the globe.”

As part of the deal, Lifeframe is teaming with Peter Spirer’s Rugged Entertainment to co-produce three feature pics to be distributed via Lifeframe as well as partner to acquire programming for the slate. The first film in this deal is the marijuana docu Legend Of 420.

Other releases on the Lifeframe horizon include the Comic-Con winner She Makes Comics and Spirit Game: Pride Of A Nation, to be released in November to celebrate Native American Heritage Month.

She Makes Comics was produced as part of Sequart’s comics documentary series and won Best Documentary at the 2015 Comic-Con International film festival. It’s not currently available to buy, but that should change with this deal.
