Former Vice President, Publishing Planning & Collected Editions at DC Entertainment Jeff Boison has just been hired by Image Comics and will join them Monday, October 5 as Director of Publishing Planning & Book Trade Sales. Boison worked at DC since 2009 and was at Random House for 11 years prior to that.
“With nearly 20 years in publishing, Jeff has built a sterling reputation for himself, and we couldn’t be more delighted to welcome him to the Image team,” said Image publisher Eric Stephenson in a statement.
Boison was a smart player at DC, and a strong hire for Image, who have an already large and growing trade publishing program, including such mega sellers as The Walking Dead and Saga. Boison will lead Image in selling to the book market, .com, and mass market sectors — a lot of books and a lot of territory.
That’s a really good hire right there.
