AAAND award season is kicking into gear with the 2017 GLAAD Media Awards Nominees announced.
These awards pre presented to “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community and the issues that affect their lives.”
The comics nominees are below; as in years past, it’s good to remember that GLAAD tries to recognize MAINSTREAM media presentation of LGBTQ issues, so the many small pess and indie and self-published comics by queer creatrs are not really within the award’s prevenance; hence the appearance of many titles from MArvel and DC. However it’s still a good list, and Black ask and Boom! are also on it.
