The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has their nominations for their annual great Graphic Novels for Teen list up. The list of recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction for those ages 12-18 is prepared yearly. A shorter list of recommended titles will be made later in the year, with a Top Ten list released later in the year.

There are over a hundred titles on the list, covering all major genres, from manga and literary to mainstream.

2009’s list can be read here.

  1. These are the nominated titles, not the final list – that will be voted on by the committee and announced at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in early 2010.

  2. As Kat says, the link takes you to the list of the currently nominated titles. The list is updated monthly, so look for another update next week.

Nominations close at the end of this week, so If you are interested in field nominating a title, do it soon. Field nominated titles must be seconded by a committee member and there are certain guidelines for title eligibility, so be sure to read the form before filling it out!
