Weekend Reading 84Δ: New Sabrina the Teenage Witch stories in Archie Comics digests & Squad!

AVERY KAPLAN: Halloween’s over when I say it’s over! And to that end, this weekend, I’ll be enjoying a bundle of brand-new Sabrina stories, which appeared across several issues and digests over the past few months. Then, I’ll be diving into the lycanthropic graphic novel by Maggie Tokukda-Hall and Lisa Sterle: Squad. When there’s no more room in hell… the dead will continue to celebrate Halloween well into December!

Weekend Reading 84Δ: Bleach

DEAN SIMONS: One word: BLEACH.

Weekend Reading 84Δ: Bizarro Comics

Taimur Dar: Months ago a friend of mine gave me his copy of the Bizarro Comics trade hardcover, a collection of some of the strangest intrepations of DC Comics’ beloved superheroes. I’ve been crazy busy for awhile, especially during October, so I haven’t had time to enjoy it. Gonna finally crack it open and dig into it. I’m especially looking forward to the infamous “Letitia Lerner, Superman’s Babysitter” story by Kyle Baker that featured super-toddler Clark Kent crawling into a microwave oven!

Weekend Reading 84Δ: Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

JOHANNA DRAPER CARLSON: A friend suggested I catch up on Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku because of its portrait of adult fans, a category I happily place myself in. Volume 5 came out last month, with two of the main characters arguing how much to incorporate their hobbies into their wedding ceremony. For heart-warming sweetness, I’m also reading the latest Phoebe and Her Unicorn collection, Unicorn Playlist. I’m always impressed by how many clever observations Dana Simpson keeps putting into that strip.
