The Valiant comics relaunch has been brewing for a while, with some hires and much consultation, but they’ve just let the cat out of the bag — their new line is expected to launch next May, with a Free Comic Book Day preview leading the way. The preview will feature X-O MANOWAR, BLOODSHOT, HARBINGER, and probably some other Valiant favorites. The creative teams haven’t been announced but the preview cover is by Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic.

Valiant has also hired Hunter Gorinson as Marketing & Communications Manager and Atom Freeman as Senior Sales Representative in addition to Warren Simons as Executive Editor, so they’re putting together a pretty good team.

  1. What no Archer & Armstrong and The Eternal Warrior. Still it’s good to see some charecters that I read while I should have been studying in college making a return.

  2. I’ve always thought the Shooter-era Valiants were not just some of the best comics of their era, they were in many ways an alternative take on “super-hero comics for grown ups” that stood in stark contrast to the Image vibe that took over the industry. I’ll give this 2nd reboot (3rd if you count the uncompleted Unity 2000 series) a look.

  3. Loved the original Valiant and this new cover is simply stunning. Will give the new a line a try. Hope they are bringing back Shadowman and Eternal Warrior too.

  4. I’m definitely going to check out the X-O Manowar comic, that was the only Valiant title I collected “back in the day”…
