Last week saw the debut of the latest volume of the Uncanny X-Men, bringing all of the disparate X-teams back into one title for an epic 10-part storyline. To celebrate the new era for the merry mutants, Marvel announced today that, for a limited time, they are offering a special, digital director’s cut of Uncanny X-Men #1. The deluxe digital edition will feature character designs and process pages from the creation of the issue, from script to final product. If you already bought the issue digitally, fear not: readers who purchased or preordered Uncanny X-Men #1 will automatically be upgraded to the director’s cut edition.
Releasing these ‘special features’ digitally is a neat way to commemorate the occasion without the expense of sending the whole book—already an oversized, $8 affair—back to print. Uncanny X-Men #1 is still available from Diamond, and you can get the director’s cut edition by redeeming the digital code that comes along with the print edition.
