  1. Is this going to run on just “nerd sites” or will Marvel Marketing fork over a couple bucks and run this on Cartoon Network, SyFy, USA, etc, similar to DC’s Nu52 commercial?

  2. I preordered it months ago when Amazon had it at $39 for like half a day. I’m not even a big Marvel U guy, and I’m sure I’ll roll my eyes at many things in the collection, but it seemed a decent price for the amount of content and should be fun enough. I can always trade it in to my LCS for half of the cover price.

Marvel’s been doing these trailers for years and they seem to only run on a few internet sites. In other words, unless someone is actively searching to find these trailers, they’ll never see them.

Kind of funny to hear Marvel make the claim that their AvX talent is “the highest selling creators in comics”. When last they said something like that it was in reference to how Mark Millar and Steve McNiven were the Marvel-centric created team who had done the (then-)highest-selling comic series of the decade with Civil War. But… neither of those guys are on AvX.

I mean, the current offerings from Johns/Lee and Snyder/Capullo (and Kirkman/Adlard, I suppose) have sold way more than Marvel’s top regular titles. I like Hickman’s stuff, but he isn’t a top-seller. Even Bendis’s books have fallen a lot. But I guess the AvX trailer can’t be too honest and say “Brought to you by creative teams who can’t even move 60,000 copies per issue anymore, unless there’s a crossover or gimmick.”
