Comic book writer Tini Howard appeared on the Friday, April 17, edition of Jeopardy! last week. Unfortunately for her, she came in third place, behind Jamie Ding, who won his 26th consecutive game, and Taotao Zhang, but she still managed to earn $2000. You can watch the episode on Hulu or Peacock, or if you’re in Canada, on Crave, as well as the final round in the YouTube compilation below:

Howard had posted to Instagram about her appearance before it aired, sharing, “I’ll do a Substack with all the details but to answer a few questions, I took the Jeopardy anytime test on the website and went through the standard casting process, [so] you can do it too!”

She continued, saying, “The hardest part is not knowing the questions, it’s buzzing in on time. There’s one question you’ll see me miss when you watch the show and I buzzed in TOO EARLY and wanted to die that someone else got it. You’ll know it when you see it.” She also confirmed host Ken Jennings “is a comic book fan,” before calling him a god.

In a post-game video posted to Jeopardy!‘s Substack, Howard commented she still had fun despite her struggles buzzing in on time, and that she would probably have to start reading Taylor Jenkins Reid (Daisy Jones & the Six)’s books, after guessing the name of one of her titles correctly.

Howard, whose past work includes Excalibur, Catwoman, and GLOW, is currently writing the creator-owned, supernatural action series Marian Heretic for BOOM! Studios, for which the first trade paperback will be released on July 28. The fourth and final issue of her latest series for DC, Sirens: Love Hurts, will be released on May 20, and another creator-owned series, Sicko, will debut from Ignition Press on July 22.
