In something of a pop culture reunion, Geena David and Susan Sarandon will be appearing at this year’s C2E2 in Chicago.
The iconic (yes) duo starred in Thelma and Louise, the 1991 buddy picture directed by Ridley Scott from an Oscar-winning screenplay by Callie Khouri. As two women on the run from the police and the patriarchy, Davis and Sarandon created an indelible impression and both received Academy Award nominations.
Sarandon and Davis will be coming to C2E2 on March 27 for a panel about the much loved film. They will also be available for autographcs and photo ops – so you can create your own happy ending for the characters.
They join a star-studded line-up of celebrities and comics creators.
Celebrity Guests include Charlie Cox, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kristen Ritter, Christopher Eccleston and many more.
Comics guests include Becky Cloonan, James Tynion IV, Jill Thompson, Tony Fleecs and again, many more, including creators from the vibrant Chicago comics scene.
Panels include looks at the Slaughterverse, comics distribution, DC’s future plans and lots more fun stuff.
C2E2 will be held March 27-29 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Tickets are on sale now, with multi-day and single-day options available. Fans who purchase a C2E2 Superfan Membership will also have digital access to the event. As Superfans, members also receive premium access to purchase Select Autographing sessions, Photo Ops, and exclusive merchandise throughout the year for $99 annually, in addition to exclusive onsite perks at C2E2 such as Fast Pass lines for Autographing and Photo Ops.
By the way, Thelma and Louise is also famous for kicking off Brad Pitt’s film career, but according to Wikipedia others in the running the role of the cute con man included Christian Slater, River Phoenix, George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Grant Show, John Mellencamp, Dylan McDermott, James LeGros, and Dermot Mulroney. Did they make the right choice?
