The Suicide Squad from director James Gunn arrives next month! After releasing that amazing trailer last week, it was only a matter of time before tie-in merchandise and products would be revealed. Sure enough the first wave of Suicide Squad Funko figures were unveiled.
As Gunn has warned fans from the very beginning not to get too attached to the characters, he reiterated the same thing on Twitter in regards to the Funko figures.

It’s tempting to assume the Suicide Squad characters not featured in this first wave are most likely to die in the film such as Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Weasel (Sean Gunn), Savant (Michael Rooker), Javelin (Flula Borg), Mongal (Mayling Ng). If somehow Savant makes it through to the end alive, it will be one of the few times that a Michael Rooker character isn’t eventually killed off in a James Gunn story.
Whatever characters survive, it’s a safe bet to expect more Suicide Squad Funko figures in future waves after the film is released. I’m personally holding out for a Starro figure.

The Suicide Squad arrives on Friday, August 6, 2021, in theaters and will be available in the U.S. on HBO Max for 31 days from the theatrical release.
