The Simpsons is the longest running scripted series in television history, and the show does not show any signs of stopping any time soon. Currently in its 30th season and with seasons 31 and 32 already in development, the groundbreaking animated series became a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has won 34 Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, 9 Environmental Media Awards, 7 People’s Choice Awards, and 12 Writers Guild of America Awards including the 2019 Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program Award. It is also the first animated show to win a Peabody Award and to be nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for the theatrical short “The Longest Daycare.” Now fans can own the first 20 seasons in one box set—The Simpsons: The Complete Seasons 1-20 Limited Edition.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the DVD box set will contain every episode from the first 20 seasons (a total of 441 episodes in all with a run time of approximately 9,914 minutes), including iconic ones like “Marge vs. The Monorail,” “Bart the General,” “You Only Move Twice,” and the epic two-parter, “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” Fans can look out for their favorite characters. Besides Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, there are plenty of celebrity guest stars voicing legendary characters like Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob or Glen Close as Mona Simpson.

Only 1,000 copies of the 79-disc set will be created and will only be available from two retailers. Five hundred copies will be at Best Buy and the other 500 sets can be purchased on Amazon. The set is slated to release on December 3, 2019, but fans are encouraged to preorder now to get theirs so they are not sold out on the debut. Whether you are purchasing for yourself or snagging a set as a holiday gift for a super fan close to you, now is the time to grab one!

  1. An aside: The ‘Simpsons’ team really needs to have Scorpio throw his hat into the Presidential election. Just sayin’.
