Mad Cave Studios has revealed The Omega Book, a cosmic thriller written by James Patrick (The Kaiju Score, Astronaut Down), with art by Pauli Junquera (Nancy In Hell: The Hell’s Door), and lettering by Pat Brosseau. The comic revolves around Brady Parsons, a priest who inherits pages of the titular tome from his late father, which contains the secrets of the universe. “Everyone wants that knowledge; they’ll do anything to get it, and if the book falls into the wrong hands, it will end the world. No, the universe.”

The synopsis continues, saying, “To stop that from happening, Brady enters a world of science and mystery he never imagined. He’ll see and do things that nobody has ever seen or done, and he’ll uncover the truth about the amazing things the Omega Book can do, its origins, and even about the father he’s hated his whole life.”
Patrick describes the comic as being personal, explaining, “We all have complicated relationships with family, myself not excluded, of course. These can lead to regrets if people pass away before the issues are resolved. We also think we know why we have fallouts or that we’re sure of the reasons people do the things they do, but perspective doesn’t always tell the truth. Especially over time. So I wanted to know what would happen if I got one more chance to get some clarity after someone was gone.”
Issue #1 will be released on August 5, with a main cover by Junquera, and a variant by Christian Ward. You can check that out below, along with a four-page preview. In the meantime, Vol. 1 of Patrick’s next project, the manga-inspired World Enders, will be released by Mad Cave’s Nakama Press imprint on July 21. Both books will mark his first since 2022’s AfterShock series Astronaut Down.
