In the near two year run of WWE Comics from BOOM! Studios, the kayfabe stories of The Shield breakup and women’s revolution have been told by writer Dennis Hopeless. Now it’s time for WWE’s best friends to get their moment in the spotlight. A new story coming in June’s WWE #18 will tell the tale of Kevin Owens and his guardian angel Sami Zayn.

Avid viewers of WWE will remember Owen’s match with Shane McMahon at Hell In The Cell 2017 where the daredevil jumped off the top of the two-story structure in an attempt to land on a seemingly helpless Owens. At the last second, Zayn hopped the barricade and pulled his friend to safety. This was all after months of bitter rivalry between Owens and Zayn.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens even took to WWE’s YouTube channel to promote their upcoming comic book appearance. In true WWE promo fashion, call out the BOOM! crew by name. Let’s hope Dennis brings up Sammy’s days as masked luchador Generico from his days in the independent promotions.

The new “Fight Forever” storyline will detail just what made Zayn turn heel to join Kevin Owens cause. WWE #18 features a main cover by Dan Mora (Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers), along with variant covers by Adam Riches (G.I. Joe), Brent Schoonover (Captain Marvel) and Marco D’Alfonso (I Am Groot).
