Marvel is mixing up the publishing line with the surprise addition of another book in the Guardians of The Galaxy family: Guardians of Infinity. ComicBook.com broke the news. Previous Guardians author Dan Abnett is returning to the franchise with an art team including Marvel star Carlo Barberi on art. The roster includes new and old Guardians favorites: Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and more new characters that are teased in the cover and solicitation text:

IN THE INFINITE EXPANSE OF TIME AND SPACE IS THERE ROOM FOR MORE GUARDIANS? YOU BET THERE IS!
Defending the galaxy is a good gig, but Drax isn’t thrilled with the combat hours (not enough of them) and Rocket isn’t thrilled with the compensation (not enough of it). They’re off on an adventure to supplement both, and Groot is happy to come along. But instead of the perks they want, they’re about to get more trouble than they can handle. Good thing the Guardians 3000 are on hand to help! But what about…THE GUARDIANS 1000??!!
Also in this issue, Latour and Cheung tell a one-off story of Ben Grimm and Rocket Raccoon, stuck on a planet where culture is based on Earth-style professional wrestling…but the stakes are life and death! THIS AIN’T KAYFABE, BROTHER!
According to ComicBook.com, the first story within Infinity see’s three generations of Guardians heroes teaming up to fight intergalactic crime. With the Infinity moniker added to the series, it seems that that we might see characters from the Jim Starlin-penned cosmic Marvel return — I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more Adam Warlock material. In addition, Ben Grimm is getting a story in the back of the issue featuring Jim Cheung and Jason Latour recounting what is likely to be one of the first adventures of Grimm as a Guardian.
Cool I was thinking we needed more Guardians books. Hopefully they can work in some Inhumans too.
Wish they’d bring back the old Jim Valentino Guardians as an ongoing with a decent artist! Starhawk, Charlie-27, Martinex, Yondu, Vance Astro, Nikki, Aleta… Maybe even give the series the old moniker “Galactic Guardians”…
They are beefing the catalogue up for the coming movie.
You mean an infinite number of heroes, not an infinite “amount” of heroes.
