Eddie Campbell previews The Years Have Pants, the upcoming omnibus of Alec, his early autobiographical strip, and shows off some of the 45 pages of new material, including the above strip.
For those who haven’t seen Alec, it’s autobiography that probably a lot of people who don’t like autobio comics will like, as, unlike many autobio comics, it’s dramatic, funny, extremely well-crafted, and insightful about many aspects of life. Definitely one of the highlights of the second part of the year.

Hi Heidi! Just wanted you to be aware… I read your posts via a newsreader, and some ads that I don’t think you approved are being spliced into the feed version of your posts. When I read this entry and the previous one in my feed reader, there are spammy links between the last and the before-last paragraphs. It’s in the source code of the original entries, just with display set to ‘none’, which is probably why it shows up there and not here :/
I love Alec. If I could draw, Alec is probably the comic that I would do. One of the highlights of my collection is the old, hardcover (at the time) Complete Alec, which I found at a comic shop for a dollar. Still the best purchase I ever made.
This will be the book of the year. I didn’t mean for this to happen, but I realize now that a lot of what I do in my magazine is based on the Bacchus magazine model.
