There's a fool born every minute, but a comics publisher every other minute. But this one is launching with a pretty sound roll-out. Shon C. Bury's Space Goat Productions is most known as a packaging and talent-management company, but in May they're jumping into the publishing world with Space Goat Publishing. The line will launch with three titles, and has also snagged the license to Evil Dead 2. SG publishing will be making its debut at this weekend's ComicsPRO meet

Scribd has been around for a while as en embeddable pdf reader, and already offers over a million ebooks and audiobooks on a subscription basis, so this makes a lot of sense.

It’s true: women know how to read comics

22
About six months ago, I took a victory lap. And I'm gonna take another one. Because I was right, all along. Last's week's twin announcements of the revamped DC line-up and Marvel's all-woman A-Force showed that even the big two have embraced the idea of a diverse readership as a sound business model. It was only four years ago, when the New 52 launched, that there was an outcry about only 1% of the creators being female, and DC co-publisher Dan DiDio got put on the spot and reacted with a less than conciliatory tone.

IDW and Hasbro renew pact

6
When I first got this email, I read it as "Ended their relationship, and I was like WHA--???!?!? But no no, the correct title is "IDW And Hasbro Celebrate 10 Years By Extending Their Relationship " which makes a ton of sense. Books like Transformers, GI Joe and My Little Pony have become mainstays for IDW and often damn good comics, like the epic TRANSFORMERS VS GI JOE that Tom Scioli and John Barber turned into a critical hit.
