This one’s for the history buffs out there! What if Peter Parker aged at the same rate as the world? Since he was bitten by a radioactive spider in 1962, we’ve seen Spider-Man swing through New York in all kinds of adventurous, super hero stories — but how would historical events that shaped the 20th century have been different with Peter involved? How would Peter have been different? In Spider-Man: Life Story, writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Mark Bagley seek to answer those questions.

Per a press release from Marvel, Spider-Man: Life Story is a six-issue mini-series that encompasses “the entire history of Spider-Man from beginning to end, set against the key events of each decade! As the series kicks off in March, the year is 1966, and Peter Parker must determine where his power and responsibility truly lies as the nation becomes embroiled in the Vietnam War.”

“I guess I’m just not done with Spidey! This is an idea I’ve had since I first started working for Marvel, something that explores the characters and the Marvel universe on a deeper level, where time changes both the characters and the world,” Zdarsky said in a statement. “Being able to span decades with one of the most iconic Spider-Man artists ever, Mark Bagley, is surreal. He’s creating fresh takes on classic characters and moments in really dynamic ways.”

Spider-Man: Life History debuts in March 2019 as part of Marvel’s 80th anniversary. Check out the first issue cover below and be sure to grab a copy from your local comic book shop next spring!
