Such a busy weekend! The indie comics tour continues in the Midwest with the SPACE Festival, held this year at a new location:

Ramada Plaza Hotel & Conference Center
4900 Sinclair Road
Columbus, OH 43229

Show hours are 10-6 Saturday and 11-5 Sunday. The festival includes the presentation of the SPACE Prize, given to publications submitted at the show. The complete exhibitor list is here and includes many of the region’s finest, including Sean McKeever, Paul Hornschemeier, Carol Tyler, Lora Innes, and many, many more.

There’s also a SPACE anthology — download a FREE preview in this link — with work from:
Tom Dellaringa, Joe Foo, Nick Jones, Josh Blair & Nick Marino, Jason Young, Jeff Gibson, Rafer Roberts, Bob Corby, Blair Kitchen, Michael Madsen, Matt Chicorel, Mike Kitchen, JT Wilkins, Rhea & Kimberly Long-Ewing, Kris Lachowski, Justin Lynch, Grace Cichy, Chris & Shane Houghton, Ryan Rey Tackett, Justin Bradley, Steven Meyers, Austin Hendry, Matt Dye, Steve Ogden, Brian John Mitchell, Andrew White and Matt Young.

Are you going to SPACE? We’d love a report for the Beat!

  1. This is Mike Kitchen reporting LIVE from Columbus, Ohio. We’re just about to make our way downstairs to set up the Ultraist Studios / Possum Press table for day 2 of SPACE. It’s interesting to note that we sold more SPY GUY and The POSSUM comics during day 1 of SPACE than we did during day 1 of MoCCA. Much like MoCCA, we’re filming a video-blog mini-documentary. Once it is completed (hopefully by next weekend) we’ll provide a link to The BEAT.

This is Mike Kitchen, signing off.

  2. Had a great time at SPACE this weekend and wish I had gotten there sooner on Saturday. My first con-event ever. Floor traffic seemed a little slow but it was fantastic to meet other cartoonists and check out each other’s work. I sold out of one of my minicomics, “Brown Paper”, too, so I’ve got something extra to be happy about.
