As stay-at-home orders around the country are extended, relaxed, and everything in-between, The Beat is back with another round-up of free activities and events to enjoy while you’re avoiding getting caught up in the current global pandemic. Here we go!

§ This week shredded off some serious Scooby-Doo energy. To top off Scoob!‘s online premiere and Twitter watch party with the cast, you can now read around 250 Scooby-Doo-related comics for free on DC Universe, ReadDC.comcomiXologyAmazon Kindle, and Apple Books. The free books will be available to read until September 7.

§ When The Pokémon Company cancelled their championship series a few months ago, most of us were expecting a digital comeback and boy, are we excited for the International Challenge May Online Competition. Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield competitors, gear up to link your Nintendo account with the Pokémon Trainer Club’s for the May 21-24 qualifier!

§ Anybody else obsessed with everything even remotely related to Animal Crossing? Believe it or not, you are not alone. Maisie Williams, Brie Larson, and Elijah Wood, among many other celebrities, seem to be enjoying this game, and tweeting about it. § Starting this weekend, Powerhouse Animation, creators of the series Seis Manos (Netflix), will be hosting a watch party on Twitter using the hashtag #SeisManos. If you haven’t already watched this gut-wrenching series about demonic-cults and drug cartels, your time has come.

§ Download The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game for free on Xbox and Playstation until May 21! You’ll get to explore eight large, action-packing locations based on the story of The LEGO® NINJAGO Movie, with each location including its own unique Challenge Dojo where you can put your combat skills to the test.

§ Get your foot through the Final Fantasy XIV door for free! A few things before you speed towards it: you need to have a registered account with FFXIV, trial accounts can’t take advantage of this, and if you’re a lapsed subscriber your previous FFXIV subscription should have ended more than 30 days ago.
