It’s already the weekend again already, and that must mean it’s inevitably time for Weekend Reading 46!

As you might expect, we’ll be spending the weekend in the manner to which we are accustomed: reading! What will you be paging through this weekend? We hope you’ll let us know in the comment section and on social media @comicsbeat!

Weekend Reading 46: Bone

AVERY KAPLAN: This weekend, I’ll be diving into Bone: The Complete Cartoon Epic in One Volume by Jeff Smith. While I read plenty of Bone in the pages of Disney Adventures once upon a time, I’ve never read the whole epic cover-to-cover, so I’m looking forward to diving in… and considering the size of this book, it’s going to be a very deep dive indeed!

Weekend Reading 46: Jack Kirby: The Epic Life of the King of Comics

TAIMUR DAR: Jack Kirby: The Epic Life of the King of Comics by Tom Scioli was among The Beat’s 50 Best Comics of 2020 and it’s been on my list to read for some time. Discovered that it’s available to read digitally through the libby app. And since I got a new iPad for my birthday recently, diving into this Jack Kirby biography during the weekend.

Weekend Reading 46: Doomsday Book

RUTH JOHNSON: Hopefully, I’ll be re-reading Connie Willis’s Doomsday Book this weekend. It’s one of my favorite science fiction, time-travel-related books, which, while it deals with a plague, is still heartwarming and uplifting up until the very end. Maybe I’ll try her Lincoln’s Dreams, too.

Weekend Reading 46: DC Future State Wonder Woman #2

BILLY HENEHAN: Can we talk about Future State: Wonder Woman by Joelle Jones for a second, and how issue #1 had me ready to name this series in The Beat’s 50 Best Comics of 2021? The last time I was as excited about a character the way I am for Yara Flor, Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz were completely reworking Moira MacTaggert in the pages of House of X. I picked up issue #2 of Future State: Wonder Woman this week and am itching to read it. In related news, I’m very excited that Joelle Jones will continue the adventures of Yara in the pages of the upcoming Wonder Girl series!
