It’s been subtly noted that Sean Edgar has left his position doing PR for DSTLRY for a few weeks now, and word on the street he had a fabulous new gig. Now he’s made it LinkedIn official: He’s the new Director of Comics & Collectibles for Kickstarter.

Overjoyed to start a new journey with Kickstarter as Director of Comics & Collectibles. The uniting thread throughout my career has been aiding storytellers in manifesting their work, and ensuring those stories are heard. Kickstarter is—without exception—the best arts oasis and honed platform to amplify that mission. I’m humbled and beyond delighted.

Edgar’s past comcis work includes stints at Dark Horse, Oni, Z2 and DSTLRY – as well as Paste Magazine, so he’s well equipped to take on this crucial position.

The job – formerly known as Comics Outreach Lead  – has been filled by many luminaries over the years, including most recently Sam Kusek, who held the position until he left for Oni a few months ago. Prior to that it was Bryce Gold, who now works at Tiny Onion and will be heading up the new BODEGA event. Orianna Leckert ran the comics group for several years, before being promoted to books, but Edgar will continue to work with her on the category.

Comics remain one of the most successfully funded categories on Kickstarter, with the Transformers Compendium campaign the most funded with $4.6 million.
