At Saturday’s Family Guy panel at San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer and showrunner Rich Appel made two major announcements. First, Halloween and holiday specials will return exclusively to Hulu this year. Second, Kieran Culkin will play Satan himself in the former.
The Halloween special, “Happy Hell-o-ween,” sees Brian and Stewie descend to the literal depths of Hell, where they’re forced to pay the consequences for 24 seasons of awful behavior. Things take an interesting turn when they annoy the Devil so much that they end up in charge of the realm.

The Family Guy holiday special, “The Peter Clause,” takes place over Christmas as Peter and the guys compete to become Quahog’s official Santa. Unfortunately, Peter loses, which will surely lead to some serious antics.
In addition to Appel, Saturday’s panel featured Family Guy co-EP and supervising director Peter Shin and stars Alex Borstein, Arif Zahir, and Jennifer Tilly.
Family Guy Season 25 will return to Fox in 2027 and will stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for U.S. subscribers. Further details about the Halloween and holiday specials will be forthcoming.
