SDCC ’26: FUTURAMA Season 14 trailer & 3 ‘XXL-Sized’ specials revealed

Futurama fans, rejoice! At Saturday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel featuring creator Matt Groenig, showrunner David X. Cohen, and more cast and crew, Hulu not only released the Season 14 trailer, but announced three “XXL-Sized” specials that will debut beginning in 2027.

Futurama Season 14 debuts Monday, August 3 with two episodes on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for U.S. subscribers. Here’s the synopsis:

Brace yourselves… The future is about to get a whole lot stranger! It’s a non-stop onslaught of swaggering space pirates, lab-grown meats, sexy scams… plus the shocking return of Dr. Zoidberg’s lost love! You didn’t see that coming, prior to being told about it just now! It’s a thrilling, all-new season of Futurama on Hulu!

The announced Futurama “XXL-Sized” specials, which are extended in length, are currently in production. The first one is Christmas-themed and will release in 2027, followed by the other two—likely in 2028, given the holiday nature of the first special. More details on these are forthcoming.
