Leeanne Krecic, or Mongie as fans might better know her as, will be at San Diego Comic Con this year where she will discuss her new upcoming series on Manta called Dragon King Oath.
Krecic is most well-known for Let’s Play, a highly popular series on WEBTOON that has garnered over 700 million views and nabbed an Eisner nomination. The creator parted ways with WEBTOON in November 2022, citing censorship and exclusion from marketing as the main issues for her departure. At NYCC 2023, she revealed the series will return in the fall 2025 and that it would be adapted into an anime by OLM.
At the same convention, Krecic also unveiled the cover art for her new series Dragon King Oath, launching exclusively on Manta. The series is projected to have approximately 100 episodes. Krecic’s move to Manta makes her the first major creator to join the platform from another one. She shared that “Working on my new series Dragon King Oath has been a fun and exciting experience, and I am looking forward to sharing the story with readers in the near future!”
Dragon King Oath is set in a world where dragons and kings must share the land in peace as they are bounded by an oath. As ordained by the oath, Princess Lisette Wylgerent is pledged to the dragon Raith in exchange for his protection and the dragon’s promise to not harm her father nor her people. As Lisette begins to unravel the secrets that the dragons and humans have tried so hard to suppress, she discovers she may have uncovered something that could alter the course of history for both races.
