Warner Bros has announced a slew of animated film debuts for San Diego Comic-Con. In a press release shared late Wednesday evening, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment announced it would be holding screenings of The Venture Bros: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, Justice League: Warworld and Babylon 5: The Road Home during SDCC.
As noted in the press release, Venture Bros: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, Justice League: Warworld and Babylon 5: The Road Home will be world premieres. The films will all have panels associated, including Q&A sessions and panel discussions with filmmakers.
That notably includes Babylon 5’s cast and creators, including legendary writer J. Michael Straczynski and series actors Bruce Boxleitner, Claudia Christian, Tracy Scoggins and Patricia Tallman. Babylon 5: The Road Home came almost out of nowhere, announced on social media by Straczynski in April 2023. The Road Home is a separate project from the long-simmering reboot of the storied sci-fi franchise, which was first announced in 2021 and is now on indefinite hiatus, pending the resolution of the now ongoing writers strike.
Justice League: Warworld is the 10th entry in the latest iteration of DC’s animated film efforts, collectively dubbed the Tomorrowverse. In Warwrold, an as-yet unformed Justice League are stranded on the titular Warworld, fighting for their lives in a world defined by gladiatorial combat. The film sees the return of Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Darren Criss as Superman/Clark Kent, Stana Katic as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince and Ike Amandi as Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz.
The Venture Brothers: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart was first announced in 2021. The film focuses on a manhunt for Hank Venture, who went missing at the end of season 7. Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart is intended to serve as a series finale, wrapping up the show after it was abruptly canceled in 2018.
Metalocolypse: Army of the Doomstar is a follow-up to the classic Adult Swim series and a sequel to the 2013 rock opera Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem. The film was originally proposed in 2015 by series creator Brandon Small; however, Adult Swim declined to pick up the series, despite a successful social media campaign to partially fund the series with help from fans.

Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar panel will take place on Friday, July 21 at 1:00pm in the Indigo Ballroom. Join series co-creator Brendon Small and guests as they talk all things Metalocalypse, preview some clips from the upcoming R-rated film, and discuss the forthcoming album Dethalbum IV.
Justice League: Warworld will have its World Premiere on Friday, July 21 at 9:00pm in Ballroom 20. Be among the first fans to see Warner Bros. Babylon 5: The Road Home will have its World Premiere on Saturday, July 22 at 6:30pm in Room 6BCF. Babylon 5 celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year and following the world premiere screening of Babylon 5: The Road Home series creator J. Michael Straczynski, along with returning original series actors Bruce Boxleitner, Claudia Christian, Tracy Scoggins and Patricia Tallman, will host a panel discussion and audience Q&A about the all-new original movie in this beloved sci-fi saga.
